    So...

What's goin' on everyone? Been so tied up in video games lately I've almost completely removed myself from the metal loop. Give me some newer recommendations. Everyone knows I like power metal, progressive, and melodic death. I'll try to stay a little more active this time around.

Have you heard Pharaoh's Be Gone? Because on the heavy/slightly power metal front, it's what's happening.

If Pharaoh bugs the shit out of you like it does me, go with with Brainstorm "Downburst" that is some great power metal as usual from those guys, and one of only 3 albums I bought this year.

Heard of Pathosray? Progressive power metal from Italy. More power then progressive though. Worth checking out in my humble opinion.

    Kauniita Unia!!!!!

I don't really understand your beef with Pharaoh...

Not sure how you feel about them, but the new Arghoslent is a killer melodic death album.

I still don't quite understand the hype around this band. I mean, they're pretty good, but I've never gotten as worked up and excited over them as most others seem to. Honestly I think their playing of the race card has been a genius career move for them; I doubt they'd have gotten nearly as much attention otherwise.

Its not that new anymore, but Above The Weeping World by Insomnium is great as well.

I still don't understand people that don't understand how awesome Arghoslent's fucking riffs are. Stick out tongue

I don't want to change the direction of this thread to the Argh boys again, but I find it amazing that people that dig melodic death metal aren't blown away by Hornets; It's the toe-tappin'-est, most upbeat melodic death metal album I've heard in quite some time.

Precisely, and the previous two were damn good as well.

    Re: So...

I wish I got it dudes, I really do. I tried really hard to get as into Hornets and Incorrigible Bigotry as everyone else seems to be but it just doesn't wanna stick with me. Props to them for doing melodeath without falling back on the usual Gothentropes, but something about their stuff just seems kind of...I dunno, underpowered I guess? Maybe it's the production or something. You got me.

Anyway, my recommendation for progressive non-metal thing is Guapo's Elixirs. Rad stuff, that.

My COD4 stats say that I've lost almost 16 DAYS (384 hours) of my life to that game. We gotta limit that shit man!
