Blogs & Contest Update

As some of you might have noticed, we're slowly experimenting with the new blogging engine. We haven't officially announced anything YET.

Some of the writers have been running some tests and we would like a couple volunteers on the reader side of the website to try it out.

What you get:
- A blog (online journal) that you control 100%...  that means, you set the layout, font, colors, background image, title, etc. Make it your own. You get a bland default theme to start out with.
- You can also create regular web pages with static content in them. Got a band? Want to list tour dates or your bio? This is a great way to do it.
- You get to manage/allow other readers to comment/lashout underneath your blog posts
- Everyone's new blog posts will get listed on the blog homepage http://community.metalreview.com/blogs/
- Blogs are search engine ready/friendly - meaning that based on the title of your post, the engine will make sure search engines snatch it up within a few days.  Great if you are promoting your band or trying to sell a musical instrument.

Obviously, the blogs aren't meant to be exploited by posting porn or anything illegal. Violators will quickly be banned.

I suppose I could give this blog thing a shot.  I think I could manage time for it every now and then.

How do you tell what blogs are up, etc? I only noticed them because I saw Matt made one in my friends thingy. I believe I am going to have fun with that Treavzant's musings...........lol

Nice work Matt, they all look good. You should put a link to the blogs up on the home/reviews/community bar also.

Yup, links are going up for blogs right now.  Just wanted to test first for a couple days.  Lee, there is a blogs homepage where they are all listed.

It's actually pretty fun customizing your blog.... and can do almost anything you want.  I hope it catches on with more of the readers.

SlayerM being from Eastern Europe and loving metal is probably the coolest chick every invented. It is like weird science except on a message board (Now that Trezavant guy can go off on an 80's movie rant if he cathes this joke). You are a demi god of course so dont' figure in the rankings, but feel free to discuss that stuff and add waxing to the list.

I obviously don't have to work tomorrow and live such a grand life I am drinking, watching boxing matches I saw two years ago and making weird jokes on the internet. No wonder even 20 year olds have issues dating me....... I do have a coffee table though, so keep that in mind at all times.
