Thrice's recent stuff have definitely swung in the more experimental. The album following "The Artist..." added a lot of keyboards and pianos and softer songs but they still had a nice balance of heavier stuff.
Their very latest stuff is "The Alchemy Index". Basically they have 4 EPs, one for Fire, Water, Earth and Air. All four of them are out now with Fire and Water paired together and Earth and Air paired. I only have Fire and Water right now and I'm very happy with it; Fire has the heavy songs while Water has the softer, moody songs ("Night Driving" actually sounds like something off of Oceanic). Earth is supposedly a stripped down/acoustic album and Air is basically a mixed bag. What I've heard from Earth and Air is pretty good though.
Overall, they've moved past the punky sound of their older days.
Anyways, I'm listening to Protest the Hero - Kezia right now.
And to ragnarok: Sweet. I love the second half of Somewhere Along the Highway.
Infamy is better than not being famous at all!
KVLT Equation: Fire + Church = Awesome!
