I once read that many historians believe they left the island and were absorbed into indian tribes on the mainland. There are written accounts of whites living among the indian tribes back on the mainland to support this theory. Pretty interesting.

Yeah when I was a kid that was the best episode of "In Search of" with Leonard Nimoy hosting.

"Uhhh Mr. Nimoy, we still have ten minutes left."

I still remember that old SNL skit called "In Search of Spock" ha ha
