I am upset with our constitution

I feel like we can overcome what other (shallow) minds view us to be....metal could serve as background music to topple Iran, right?
I hate that we dont remember our service people enough, nor does our greatest exclamation (writing) tend to reference our heroes (the American Patriot)....I may lean right, but my heart leans center to our true supermen. GO AMERICA!!!

1) Allow free speech via cell phones...erradicate the Patriot Act

2) Allow a 3rd party to acheive enough (fundraising) success to oppose the crusty mainstays (looking at you Ron Paul)

3) Drill in Alaska

4) Subsidize fuel cells to make more affordable

5) Make every American recite our ANTHEM

This thread makes me giggle.

I hear there's an ocean of fuel cells under Alaska. But you can only find them if you continuously recite the anthem while you drill.

No one recites the Star-Spangled Banner, they recite the Pledge of Allegiance.  And I'm for taking out the "Under God" part.  Maybe we could change it to "Under Apollo" or "Under Santa Claus"

I hate people that won't recite the pledge of allegiance because it's "against their religion." Just take out "under God" and you're fine.

Honestly, when most people recite the pledge they're doing just that, reciting and putting nothing behind it.  You can be patriotic withouth an obligatory daily affirmation.

And as far as anthems go, ours kinda sucks.  I can't remember the last time I heard it performed where the singer didn't fuck up either the pitch or the meter, intentionally or unintentionally.

What I hate is that they're now singing 'god bless america' at baseball games.  Pisses me off, and takes the drunken fun out of the 7th inning stretch.

Also, I loved the Canadian national anthem until someone told me they weren't singing 'we stand on god for thee', that was a disappointment.

I do.  I also know that the song has like four more verses that no one cares about.

I was in a bar in Columbia, SC, about two years ago, me and my ex-gf and my buddy RT.  We're chilling out, drinking copious amounts of mini-bottles of booze (stupid South Carolina law), and then Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" comes on the DMX.  Without any warning, almost the entire bar starts to sing along, pretty much through the first two verses.  I'm sitting there, looking around like, "What the hell?  Is this some kind of ritual?"  It was like being in a musical.  Very odd.  It's not a song about drinking, but it was a spontaneous bursting into song in a bar.  (I assume it was spontaneous.  It could've been pre-planned for all I know, but that would require an amount of effort that I wouldn't expect college kids to put forth just to weird me out.)
