I just joined... last week, I think. I'm still probably in the recent news thing.

Holy shit, my Last.fm software hasn't been scrobbling for the last 3 weeks and I couldn't figure out why.

I come to find out today, that if the sofware abruptly has to shut down (for whatever reason), Windows Media Player (which is what I use to listen to music), disables the plugin.

You have to go into WMP, Tools-->Options-->Plugins-->Background and check the Last.fm plugin.

    Works like a charm now.

I do that, too. I was pumped when last.fm's own software started doing that.

I stopped doing that after my iPod, or the Last.fm software, or both, had some error and scrobbled the few tracks I had listened to since my previous scrobble about 12 times each. Had to go through my track history and delete the extra scrobbles. My play count was wrong for about 2 months until they rolled out the new site with live updating.

Since then, only stuff I listen to at home through iTunes gets scrobbled.

Yeah...it's got some glitches, but I, personally, haven't had too many problems (except for the occasional doubling).

Done.  Last.fm wouldn't let me use my name, so now I'm LoneWatie.  My listening history (play count) resets every time I move my ipod between my work and home computers.  Is that just the way it is?  Has one of you been able to change that somehow?

Not sure on that one - I only sync my ipod and iphone with one computer and it works great... as long as I sync them before playing any songs in iTunes.  Make sure you sync before playing anything or it will mess it up.

Maybe that's my problem. I'll consider giving it a try and see if it works.
